Australian Developmental Play Curriculum
In Foundation we implement the Australian Developmental Curriculum (ADC).The Australian Developmental Curriculum (Walker Learning Approach) is based on brain research and child development theory. Results in schools using this approach have shown higher levels of student engagement through their investigations and interests, enhanced development of oral language skills and increased levels of time spent on self initiated writing and reading.

Student Wellbeing
KIDSMATTERS
All Saints Parish School was a pilot school for the implementation of the Mental Health program KidsMatter a number of years ago. We were very excited by our inclusion in this program, which had shown to be very effective in assisting with student wellbeing and mental health.
The KidsMatter Primary initiative aims to:
- improve the mental health and wellbeing of primary school students,
- reduce mental health problems amongst students, and
- achieve greater support for students experiencing mental health problems.
To achieve these aims, KidsMatter Primary promotes collaborative involvement across the health and education sectors. It provides a framework for mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention (PPEI) that is specifically oriented to primary schools, rather than presenting schools with a single defined program. Through the KidsMatter Primary framework, schools are provided with the resources to implement a comprehensive approach to addressing students' mental health which is tailored to their local needs. In this way KidsMatter Primary builds on the work schools are already doing to address the mental health of their students through National, State, Territory and sector-based mental health initiatives and policies.(Click here to visit the KidsMatter Primary website to learn more about this great program).
Our involvement in the Kidsmatter has led All Saints School to develop very sound practices around the wellbeing of our children and see this as being one of the schools' great strengths.
TRANSITION PROGRAMS
Our association with Kindergartens and our local Secondary Colleges is a healthy sign that we are serious about caring as well as we can for our children, as they come into the school, and leave our school at Year Six. Transition activities are held with the local secondary schools and Monivae College in Hamilton for the Grade six children. During December prospective Foundation students and their parents are invited to attend an orientation day at school. They have the opportunity to become familiar with the staff, meet other students and experience the playground at recess. Every effort is made on the part of All Saints Parish School staff to ensure the transition times are smooth and enjoyable for the children.
SWIMMING PROGRAM
The Swimming Program runs one day a week for a designated term. All children are able to take part in this program. The program is run by trained YMCA personnel. Costs for this are set by the YMCA prior to the commencement of the program and are payable in full prior to the start of your child's swimming term.
