Child Safety

All Saints Parish School is committed to providing a safe environment for all students and young people and takes active steps to protect them against abuse. To achieve this the school has developed and actively enforces Child Safety Strategies to ensure that any person involved in ‘child connected work’ is aware of their obligations & responsibilities for ensuring the safety of all children under their care.

In accordance with requirements of the Victorian Government's Ministerial Order No. 1359, All Saints Parish School maintains a culture of ‘zero tolerance’ to child abuse and to support this has established minimum Child Safety Standards.

The dignity of the human person, created in the image and likeness of God, is the foundation of Catholic Social Teaching.  This Catholic Anthropology leads us to afford all people, but especially children, young people and the most vulnerable, the highest respect.

Within this context, All Saints Parish School provides a safe, supportive and secure school environment that prioritises child safety in a culture of respect, inclusion and pastoral care.

All Saints Parish School community is committed to creating an environment where the safety, wellbeing, and participation of all children within our care is paramount.

  •   We have established a Child Safe Culture.
  •   We have a Child Safe Policy.
  •   We are committed to upholding the Child Safe Code of Conduct
  •   We impose rigid and thorough human resource background checks when employing staff and contractors.  All adults who work with children in our school have Working With Children Cards.
  •   We have processes in place for reporting anyone who abuses a young person or child.
  •   We have risk assessments that identify potential risks and minimising strategies.
  •   We have an Inclusive Practices Policy and strategies to ensure that we treat all students equally regardless of their cultural or linguistic  backgrounds and disabilities.

Working with Children Check

Parents and volunteers are encouraged to support All Saints Parish School and our students by volunteering their time to help in classrooms, school events, excursions, canteen and various other times as invited by the school.  In 2008, new State Legislation required volunteers working with children in Victoria to have a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

If you would like to volunteer your time at All Saints Parish School for any purpose/event, you will need a current Working with Children Check (WWCC), this is Victorian Government legislation.
